Re-entry after a weekend away can be rough--there's all the unpacking, a pile of laundry, and a pile of email to work through as soon as you get home. Â And then the Monday morning alarm goes off o.O
Still, my recent trip to Rhinebeck, NY for the annual Sheep & Wool Festival was totally worth needing to hit snooze twice. Â Attendees are still all a little high on yarn fumes, leaping llamas (+ tiny goat!), and meet ups with old and new friends (gosh, I loved meeting several of you there!).
And I'm still pretty high from your wonderful response to the new Once Upon A Rhinebeck Hat pattern as well as the reveal of Miss Babs' Rhinebeck 2024 colorways, Zephyr and Sweater Weather.
The hat’s really great way to show off a softly speckled colorway on a semi-solid background.  Here's the Zephyr (paired with dark blue) on top, and the Sweater Weather (paired with deep green) at the bottom:
Gotta admit I love the folded ribbing & pom pom on the Sweater Weather one. Speaking of which…you guessed it: The photos app on my phone decided that it also is a cactus! 🌵
Honestly, I think it’s because of the pink+green colors. 100% would not recommend wearing an actual cactus on your head. Otherwise, Team Babs and I would’ve been in some trouble here:
The pattern is still available at a discount through Oct 25th, and it’s looking like we’ll be able to make a lovely donation to the American Red Cross and World Central Kitchen as a result, so thanks if you’ve already purchased!
Phew! Â That's all for now, so thanks for letting me into your inbox twice in same month--I'm not normally this organized :P
Regardless, it's a privilege to get to chat with you this way, and I truly appreciate getting to connect with you:)
Happy knitting and Happy fall,
Mary (aka Lyrical Knits)
Sweater Weather looks GREAT with that dark green and in that pattern! Wow! I would have been a little "meh" on the color otherwise, to be honest, as it's not usually in my favorite spectrum, but that looks great together. And yes, it is obviously a plant... but maybe not a cactus! 😂
